Hi all im new to this forum, and im looking for some info on my new 5 :)
I know that the car has been on the forum before as its got the RTOC sticker in the back window :cooter:

Dont have any of my own pictures just yet, just the ones off pistonheads so here the are..

Ive got a sneaky suspision that this car has been rallied or raced at some point...
Why? reasons such as, its just had extensive body work and a respray just before christmas and yet there are some quite big stone chips all over the front bumper, there is a fire extinguisher in the front, the back seats have been removed and there are 2 bucket seats with harnesses in the front, there is a rally sticker in the back window, he said he liked to go "watch" alot of rallys, it has had full engine rebuild by CGB and turbo reconditioned all just before christmas 2009, it is standard engine wise but it has a forge intercooler, it has an aftermarket oil presssure gauge... etc..

i didnt read the signs until i was on the way home with the car.. im not actually bothered if it has been, it drives really well and everythings nice and tight and working spot on, im very happy with it especially for the price i paid :)

So does anybody here remember this car from a previous owner and have any history on it for me?

Thanks, Will :cooter: (<--- love that smiley pahah!)

I wouldn't say those signs would say it had been rallied, I went through the whole stripped out look for a bit of fun and lightness, fire extinguisher is a good idea in any car, I carry one in my van! Went through that stage and put all the interior back in for a bit of moderate comfort.:) I wouldn't worry about it, nobody buys these cars to drive like a granny, if it runs well then its all good in the hood.

oh and from the convo i had it had been well looked after with an expensive complete overhaul, which may explain the respray etc, plus if it had been used in competition the 1st thing it'd have would be a cage...

Yeh well im totally happy with it wether it has or hasnt been in competition, probably just thinking too much into it! i think i got myself a bargain really :D
ive got the reciepts for the engine rebuild it was over 700 bar so wasnt cheap, also got reciepts for the reconditioned turbo and a few other things so all seems well so far!
there are a few little niggles, as expected of course such as..
speedo not working, horn not working, passenger side central locking not working, heaters dont blow hot air, cant seem to unlock the boot and the worst thing the steering UJ has pissed itself and the play is dangerously bad lol

But i expected nothing less from the little french ****box, and thats one of the reasons i love them so much ha :D

Think il be giving the cup mod a go today, would anybody not recommend this for any reason? cant find any reasons not too :cooter:

With regards the heaters blowing cold air, if it's just the 2 middle ones then that's normal, if it's any of the side ones then it's looks like the heater matrix has been bypassed or is leaking. Hope this is of help.:)
