slight problem

some times while driving on a motorway if i put my foot down the car seams to cough/sneeze. if i tap the pedal then put my foot down all is ok. could this be a faulty fuel pressure regulator or a problem with the coilpack. any help would be welcome.

i thought that and rebuilt the carb only to find it still dose it

I believe if you take the carb top off and open the throttle you should see a squirt of fuel from the pump jet, this would confirm whether or not your problem is down to that.

checked today pump jet is woekinf fine. but carb has a black sooty layer all around the top. the lower part of the carb is spotless. there no smoke from the car so not to sure where ths is from. ill clean the carb tomorrow and keep a eye on it.
