View Full Version : Reverse lights, Clio 172

Noticed yesterday that when i turn the ignition on the reverse lights come on and stay on. Any ideas where i need to look to solve the problem? Only 2 places i can think off is either the reverse switch on the gearbox or under the gaitor where the wire (i believe) runs too.

I ended up having to take both bulbs out as not to bring any attention to myself :ashamed:

For what it's worth what i did notice when i took the bulbs out was 1 of them was smoked over

bad earth perhaps.. light the carpet up and check the earths...

They come on with the ignition? Are any of the other lights effected?

Like Paul says, look for a ****y earth...

You dont need reverse lights anyway...I'll have a look when you come down next week :D...

What was that we were saying about me having oily hands an hr before my wedding ?! :laugh:

Switch might be kaputt mate. I imagine the switch is near the endplate that houses the final drive like the gtt, disconnect it & see if that cures it.

Aye, i use the 172 box on my gtt and it plugs straight in :)
