Speedo cable removal

Evening folks,

Trying to change the speedo cable on the 5. Have got the grommet out of the bulkhead but can't seem to get the cable out of the grommet. Feels like it's actually fixed/stuck in there?

Is there some magical way to get it out or do I slice it open?

Also the car is a Ph2 but the cable that is in the car seems to be one piece? The one I have ready to go in is a 2 piece - but how the fook am I supposed to get it through the grommet?

Guessing that people normally get rid of the old grommet and fit a new one? Just thought I'd double check before cutting anything I shouldn't.

Try pulling the gromet out (before trying to remove the cable), then try and remove the gromet. Should make it easier.
