Evening all. I'm fitting some new rings next weekend, and have called my local machine shop who wanted £20 a liner to glaze bust them... so i thought i'd just buy the tool and do it myself. I was just wondering what grade stones people recommend as the ones here have different grades:

and more specifically i was going to buy this one:

Would this do the job properly?

Many thanks
Al

Yeah if you just want to clean the liners up then a softer stone will do the job nicely.
No harm doing it yourself if you feel confident to do it.

I've always used some oil in the liner while doing it.

Just make sure you have clear hone marks after and that you thoroughly clean the liners after.

New liners come pre-honed so no need too. :agree::)

I'm a proper novice and I managed ok :)

A mate borrowed a tool from his work like the one in your link, kept a good supply of WD40 going down it and hey presto...
