Im looking into getting a tool to do this job as i got to swap a hub on my car plus i got a mate who wants his BMW done too now ive always been led to belive that you need a hydraulic Press to get bearings out as ive always took mine to a gargae to be done now ive see this...

Need to rethink if they do.
Edit; I didn't engage brain before posting.
I just use a socket in a vise
Me & Jessop went halfs on a twenty ton press, i think a 6 ton would struggle.
This is the one we bought http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20-Ton-Industrial-Hydraulic-Workshop-Garage-Shop-Press_W0QQitemZ110484618498QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_D efaultDomain_3?hash=item19b9657d02
For a one off job vice or even hammer is easily up to the job. I have done loads with hammer to remove/refit new bearing.
Even though we have the press its difficult to get the hub positioned to press out the old bearing so i still hammer it out. Use a grinder to remove the collar of the old bearing off the inner part of the hub ;)
cheers for all the comments....
i would have thought 6 ton would be enough for a bearing lol will prob just stick to the vice and hammer then :)
