I have been playing with this today. Its my new Village runabout.

Its getting serviced next weekend by Coalville Renault. Its got one or 2 original tyres on it still so im getting new rubber this week.

Needs a few exhaust manifold bolts and the tappets setting up but Rog is on with that included in my service LOL.

OK taken 5 to work this morning to get tyres fitted. made sure i had air in old tyres to drive on.

Got to work parked up and noticed the car slants to the left. Now i thought this was an optical illusion on my drive way. At work its deffo slanting. Is this a spring issue? shock? its unlikely to be anything to do with the reaer as its on a torsion bar.

Quick list of potential probs would be good so I can get checking when the wheels come off. (in the workshop i mean)

Possibility that one of the coil springs has broken making it shorter than the other. Common problem where there's a built up of rust.. it happened on an old Campus of mine yrs ago.

My campus have different design axle on it, anti roll bar stretch's from trailing arm to trailing arm and thinner then gt but from the 700miles i've done in it feels and handles fine.

Yeah GTX is the 1.7 and IIRC share the same brake set up as the R5 GTT, as mentioned Kenobi's Monaco is a 1.4 auto so i say again drums are adequate for that car.

Changing a complete rear beam because drums don't look right :scared:

well the bottom rad hose is the same, and you could proberly use the turbo water feed hose for the 2 hoses that are joined 2geather, then just your normal silicone tubing for the the thin tube

They look very much like the ones you'd find on a Phase 1 GTT.
It looks like if you were to put in a GTT radiator, header and swirl pot, then you could do it no probs.

I've got a nice campus gearbox with your name all over it. Think I've got a gear linkage somewhere too. Don't really want anything for the gearbox.

Thinking about it, the speedo is electric on Monaco's, and manual on campus's, so it would mean your speedo wouldn't work. Guess a GTT box would work? I have 2 of them

Now I think its wonky as the torsion bar on one side is like a tooth out or summat.

Not sure though, Wish me luck.

That'll be me!:D

I only fitted it there as the it still had the mounting points there for the original AEI unit that came with the car and the wires were all routed to that place.

Think Kenobi's investing in a turbo heatsheild soon for it .

Which is another stupid place to put it.... In the wet zone.... Combine a really long king lead going through the firewall, tiny electrical connections and cold/wet conditions? Great idea.... I thought the best place was where the 1.7 gtx had it.... Anyway, off topic.;)

Could it be relocated to the inside of the car? or would that make the king lead too long?
