My old local GSF was open till 5pm on a Saturday.

Why d'you need the uprated gasket anyway? The o.e one is more than upto the job, even when running high boost levels, plus you have the bonus of retaining the o.e compression ratio. Double win.

Its not quite that simple alex, no is the answer, standard can work perfectly well, but since I know what car this is destined for I know it'll need the blue one or a slightly thicker one again if possible.

Dude here goes nothing...

He asked for one.. giving no reason why he needed one.

Mart simply said you dont really need one (how was he to know with no info on what it was for)

Good solid advice...

Bit of a rubbish response given to the advice... so what you expect.

Here we go what?

Did you even care to read the responses? did he tell us he wanted a 1.8 meilor blue gasket?

Mart asked why he wanted an uprated one and he got a somewhat sarcastic reply.

Edit: fs JRP that's twice today! :p

The Uprated gasket isnt any stronger than oe gasket its the same but thicker so therefore slightly lower CR = the so called uprated part....

Glen hope you get it sorted for next week, looking forward to seeing it out :) checked my garage and no spare gasket here.... :crap:

Actually quite the opposite, Scoff's post hinted that there is more to this than any of us are aware hence the way this thread has gone.

You aren't the only one partial to a little sarcasm ;)
