Hi all, a long shot but does anyone know what the spec of the epmotorsport r5 engines is, just got my engine running after a while in storage but i got no paperwork with it from it's previous owner. I know they built forged bottom ends and made there own cams but thats all i know. Any help appreciated, apparantly my engine was built by jesse?

Hi Jonathan I have an Ian Nixon special in Doris however the answer to your question is probably every engine was different depending on what the customer asked for and could afford. I think its fair to say that he concentrated more on the head, turbo and fueling rather than the compression ratio and the timing if that helps.

Fueling is my next challenge, this engine came with fifth injector set up that kicks in at 20psi and water injection set at 18psi, but no carb was supplied. Going to build up a group a carb and set up using afr gauge. Apparantly this engine has a fully forged bottom end and tuffridge rockers/ pushrods. Breather system very noisey too, not sure why but gurgles like hell on tick over even with standard pipework fitted.
the gurgling sound of the breather system will be down to the restrictor missing;)

yer i got a spare ep cam to, but has got some surface corrosion and unsure if still usable?
Should be useable (if not real creamed), polish it up in a lathe, will be just fine. Do it all the time. By way any change of borrowing to digitise the profile? Going to be doing a bit of a project engine on Markey Marks (BD) thread, and all input would be great ;)

From what i remember mate the EP O5 cam was loosey based on a Kent 150 cam, may be wrong but know it was a mild road cam, nothing too wild.

It would be good if you could post this cam to Andy cook, so he could finish off his Renault 5 camshaft comparison guide.......he will send it back, he had one of mine for just over a week:)
