The White 172

Ok so I bought this a while ago in replacement of the 5 16v

I got it very cheap and although I new it had 1 or 2 problems I've managed to sort the main ones!

I was told about a misfire just after hitting 4k, when driving home ( about 45 miles )I found this was tru! However I've managed to sort this out.

There's a small list of things which need doing but when money allows I can get on with it

sunroof leaks
fan wired upto a switch
all dash parts were White
rear pads were non exsistant
knocking from rear
central locking didn't work

Various other small problems

but what I've done so far has cost me nothing

dash sorted
central locking
fan and pads sorted

it will be used for track days so expect it will be at mallory instead of the raider

Annoying rattle by any chance when accelerating hard? sounds like a loud vibration on the car body? usually the manifold/downpipe hits the bulkhead just where it passes over the steering rack, new engine mounts can fix it for awhile or try moving the engine forward on the mounts as far as you can. renault fix was to bash the exhaust apparently.

nearly every clio made with a sunroof leaks!especially if they took the roof out when the graff was done.it just needs a new seal, nice easy fix :D even easier coz youve nothing inside!!

I'm going to have to find a 2nd sunroof as it's been bodged in the past with sticky sealant and it's all over!

James scratcher, there are others who do like the roof so but I doubt it will stay

I wouldnt change the roof at all looks ace why paint over that in matt black nooooo i would put a carbon bonnet on and the williams wheels in anthracite and i think it would look sweet
if i was changing the colour of the roof to black i would go gloss or even back to white a carbo nroof skin would be best but they are costly this would sort the sunroof issue too:)
