reving problem

hope someone can help

my car seems to pop and hesistate when reving has anyone any ideas why?

do you think it just needs setting up?

Carb probably needs attention mate. What happens at what rpm's? need more info to diagnose.

Check the basic ignition components too if they havent been replaced.

Hi thanks for the reply , it's had new plugs leads dizzy cap, runs fine but as soon as you try and rev from idle it Miss fires and pops then revs

Check in the dark to see if you can see any earthing from the HT leads (may see a blue spark from HT leads onto the tappet cover), make sure HT leads are secure and there is no moisture in the dizzy cap.

Also check the wire to the timing sensor isn't melted

if it pops and splutters then revs sounds like its your accelerator pump on the carb. check its adjusted properly and moving freely. popping spluttering suggests its lean as you press the throttle.
