Cheers lads. I love the standard look of 5s so won't be changing anything on the outside, the carpets pritty new I cleand it with auto glym interior shampoo last week it's good gear. Hopefuly get some power in the engine soon :)

the car has been off the road and dry stored for about 2 years. One of the last recipts was at mveclassiccars it had a full respray and the bill came to £2178 I was wondering if there is any previous threads or anything of the car I would be intrestead to see. Iv tried looking about on the site but havnt found anything yet. The reg is H485KFX

The website went down about a year ago i think. we lost almost everything thread and picture wise. someone on here might recognise the car tho if maybe you can find the previous owners?

A sorted C1J will surprise a lot of cars, but all depends on the opposition.

For example, I'd imagine a 911 C2 or C4 would be pushed, as well as an Evo 260 - 300, if were talking 911 turbo/GT3's and Evo FQ400' then your probably going to struggle!

Never under estimate a 5, especially ones with VAG power - that thing does shift.

Oh and its 14th of August, don't forget Pod too May sometime (21st?)

Ideal mate. I'd love to buy that vag 5. My engine is completely standard at the minit, what things shud I be looking at to get around 200bhp? :coffee: and how much would I be looking at paying?

Don't go chasing the 200 mark - 180 - 190 is a more reliable and more easily achieved, spend the rest of your money on decent suspension/brakes/rubber.

Starting point - Decent service, then make sure your water cooling is working the best it can, i don't mean going and buying alloy rads and what not, decent std Valeo is more than up to the job. Then look at Turbo's (T25 hybrids or T28's if your going to run a cam), larger elbow and as free flowing exhaust as you can. finally get your intercooler sorted, some very cheap options to get a front mount or just a more efficient version of the std cooler.

Most importantly, get your carb set up to run these mods accordingly. AFR's are Very Very important.

170-180bhp is a respectable figure, bhp per tonne is on the 5 GTT's side. Even running a bar of boost will make a big difference.

Ignition and service parts can stay completley original. HT leads, ignition leads, dizzy cap. Cooling system can stay OE too, no need for silicone hoses.

Modify the bost circuit, adjust the carburettor, T25 turbo. Intercooling wise it would be nice to keep the engine bay as OE as possible, wondering if you could get away with a grill mount. The other option is a Forge FMIC, would a double capacity 'breadbin' style intercooler be sufficient? You could get the silicone I/C hoses in black to give it the 'oe' look.

Cheers mate. Yeh that sounds like a plan. I was thinkin about the black hoses, would look subtle!
