View Full Version : show off your rims
Im interested in you car pics, renault 5 gt turbos with aftermarket rims.
I was going to go for 172s but the whole wheel spacer thing is putting me of, turbines are another option, look sweet but have been done to death.
I fancy some nice 16" oldskool rims like arrows, blades, azev as or some steaths.
Come on lets see you rims :)

 i thought all the stealths had been buried in a field somewhere , i think momo arrows have a place on a 5 gtt...i have a customer that is going back to the old school hockenheims which suit it well

hockenheim's would be my choice on a 5 these days....
Perhaps i should do the 90's thing and buy a set and remove the side graphics...

The Ghost is currently doing the 90's thing on it's OZ Polaris' ;). They stopped making them around 10 years ago now, as I got one of the last sets. They're the wheels I always wanted on my 5
I've always liked TSW Blades on the gtt as well :agree:

So your saying they are ET 40?
http://www.rtoc.co.uk/boards/picture.php?albumid=587&pictureid=10618
Matt - Stamps on the rims are 48.5 offset, so way off the 35 ideal. I have to run 5mm spacers on mine, i listen to people saying "spacers - No way" but i've never had any issues.
Uploaded some more pic's on my profile.....just takes too long cos of converting the file sizes!
The best ones on this thread have to be the Blades and the P-slots thay both look awsom.
Dont go for stealths thay just look so cheep.

from what i remember, they are E30 bmw fitment, centrebores machined out and then a chamfer machined on the mating face to clear the rear brake pads and caliper as the centres are pretty chunky
arches have all been shaved but no metalwork mods, but it already had smaller rear bumper mountings (maybe a previous attempt at big wheels)
doesn't rub unless its a big bump or full lock

right move :)
could someone give me the info i need to look out for some rims, size ofset etc
I think most 15" are 7" wide running a 195/45/15
most old rims 16" are 7.5 wide running 195/40/16
im i right in thinking a 4x100 with 35-38 ofset is correct for both size rims.
Help guys :)

I'm getting the hockenheims from the old mans loft for a refurb, think they will need shotblasting first though as they are fubered, anyone got pics of them on a black car?:) also need centre caps and the rings that tighten to the centres.
they are, i found a guy local with another set but he didn't get back to me about them.. why have 1 set when you can have 2:D
they might be on the car again one day:(
i keep looking everywere! i want azev c's, get some pics up of the A's mate :agree:
i really want a set of these for mine!! im thinking 7.5's though
they would look mint! 7.5s all round like your borbets.
they were off my c2 just put them next to the 5 to see the difference, i dont think 9s wouldnt be possible, unless there was some major camber and arch hacking??:smokin:
Mine are 7.5s did not fit with 195 45 16, maybee car was to low :) now they just get in the arches now with 195 40s.

195 40s look well on 7.5s nice bit of subtle strech
I've only ever owned Renault alloys...with the Clio 'Turbines' at the bottom to the more the recent 'Williams' wheels :agree:

I love it! are the ph1 bumpers any lighter than the ph2 ? they look like the cast plastic ones on a base model as apposed to the heavier fibreglass ph2 bumpers

Thats looks great. :agree: So simple (or what appears to be simple) and clean.
The bonnet is the only thing Im not keen on, otherwise one of my favorite 5's - just has something different about it.
