Ive got my engine in bits at the moment, and have noticed the cam is scored. I was going to replace this, but the bearings inside the block also have scoring. This is only at the bottom of the bearing. Is this common or is my block shot? Cheers :)

Would it be possible to modify the block to take the removal bearings like the turbo/turbo 2 block?

I know as far as time and money are concerned its not worth it,as its quick and easy to find another good block, but I wonder if its possible with the C1J,,,

replacing the removable bearings is far from straightforward... Sparkie knows, he tried

In the same boat at the moment and dont really know what to do, with most blocks being near on 20 years old its going to be hard to find a decent one:crap:

Source one out of Campus or the such like - Most of them have probably had a relatively easy life, hence should be in good nick.

Yep campus block is the ideal replacement, the one I had was mint. James5 had it from me, might be worth seeing if he wants to part with it.

yes, you would have to line bore the cam journals. in the future when 1397cc blocks are rare then this may become a reality. until then, use a campus one.

does the T2 have the same size rear journal as the GTT, or the Gordini?
