Different intercooler and larger turbo, that'll be first step.

More boost! ;) after 17ish psi a bigger turbo:D then the fun starts!:smokin:

alloy or double cap intercooler, re-jet the carb, wind the boost up to 16lbs

To be honest mate... running 10psi compared to 17 psi is a big difference.... Up your boost mate!! til the turbo pops.. then get a bigger turbo :)

i had j8tro tun mine up from 10 to 14 psi of a bleed valve and you can feel the difference in that but i know wat ur sayin i want more now.

will i need the carb settin up?

we just opened the valve a couple of turns drove the car and watched the boost gauge to see where it reached until we had opened it enough so the guage read 14psi when on full throttle i havent had the fueling changed and mine has been sound.

no more than a bar of boost
thats 14.7psi in old money:)
its often said that the carb on a standard engine will be ok to fuel this but!!!
any increase in boost without a fueling check is done at your own pearl
id recommend selling the oil cooler as the standard items up to the task
then using the renumeration to fit a larger intercooler
if youve no means of checking the fueling a runup on a rolling road
is only about £40ish to check
or buy yourself a wide band and mod till your hearts content:)

If it was mine and on a budget id up boost to bar, and advance ign timing.. of course id check fueling and use det cans..

shorten the rod to up boost... :)

erm lets leave ign timing for now, just enjoy a bar a boost for a bit...

if you dont understand ignition advance dont do it
think holed pistons
although it makes/made a vast improvment to my engine
so worth finding out about it or ask a local member to help out

wideband lambda to monitor fueling

google will help for both of the above;)

ok thanks for that, ill look into it.

wana learn the basics before we go there, is the wideband the one that fits into the downpipe?

ive always found takin a dump before i go out drivin gives me that extra 20 bhp, maybe try that first?

So you can listen to see if the engine is pinking. You can make them yourself with a pair of ear protectors plastic tube and a bit of copper pipe bolted to the block. Or you can use a mechanics stecscope, electronic versions can work quite well.
