If it ain't broke don't fix it mate, seriously these engines if well maintained are good for 150k+ miles! Your money your decision though:agree:

:agree: yep... dont touch it if its fine... except a good service every now and then... and keep things clean, make sure the water pipes, boost pipes, electric cable are in good working order and no lose connections, boost leaks, loose brakets.. js tidy it up a lil.. maybe even buy new jubilee clips and new brackets?

Should be fine. The engine in my van was stood for at least 5yr in a damp garage & it still runs as good as the day it was removed from the donor car.

Give it a going over but don't touch the bottom end, just do gaskets and bits and bobs, leave the head on if poss. I did the lot on my 110k engine and it's still running a1 now. Sump had surface rust so I sorted that, sump leaked, rocker leaked, manifold was missing a few nuts, did the chain and tensioner as that was worn.

My 150k engines getting the same, bottom ends not being touched apart from a clean and freshen up.

Do the minimum.

give it an oil and filter change, new plugs, maybe a new timing chain and tensioner as it's probably not been done before (if it's done high mileage) and be sure to prime the oil circuit before you fire it up as i doubt there will be much oil anywhere except in the sump!
