does anyone have a picture of where the theromstat is on a Clio 172?

radiator thermo, do you mean ? it's a flat disc type behind the top hose outlet from the head. You see where the top rad hose goes onto the end of the cylinder head - the allu section that the hose pushes onto is held onto the housing with 3 10mm bolts, undo those and the thermo is in there.

ahh I see... thanks for that... I was thinking I didn't have one as I plumbed in an aftermarket gauge and it never seemed to get above 60 degrees.. I'll get my lappy out and see what the ECU is reading from the original sensor to be sure but it sounds like the gauge is just reading low and I have one.
