Edit. Below is the original posting I made in this thread, but given the Newquay weekend is potentially now starting to take some kind of shape, would people mind adding their 'vote' to the poll to see which is taking more interest for the bank holiday weekend.

Jaffa's German jolly shouldn't really have any bearing to the BH weekend options, but then perhaps people are saving money for the autobahn laden trip instead.

Original post...

There's been recent talk of a run-to-the-sun esque drive/convoy ending up at Newquay for August BH weekend, and that there's Jaffa's Nurburgring/RWS Hockenheim trip a few days afterwards (2nd-7th September), but would anyone also/alternatively be interested in a trackday at Croft circuit on the BH Monday?

I'm not trying to tread on any toes; just merely offering an alternative if the Newquay jolly doesn't happen/if people can't afford the 5 days in Germany.

I also appreciate it's only a couple of weeks after ND @ Mallory, hence if there's little or no interest in hitting the black stuff at Croft, I'll post no more about it :D

Edit: Just to add, the only reason I'm asking about it now is that I've only recently found out about this trackday there, and given the lack of trackdays at Croft that are now available to joe public, I want to get in there & secure us spaces asap given the remaining will be snapped up in no time.

That's 3 of us for starters  :agree:

The price at the mo is currently £220 odd per car/driver, but I might be able to haggle that down a touch. Then again, I don't think they'll be struggling to get the numbers there...

So that's 6 for Croft, and 4 for Newquay :cartman: :crap:

Given the Newquay idea looks dead & buried, I'll see you at Croft...

Ricky, fair play for arranging that mate. Is it worth starting a new thread on it, detailing what's what, and maybe seeing if people will cough up a deposit for their place?

I'd have to e mail or speak to the person who was dealing with the block booking. TBH i'm gonna feel a bit of a numpty getting back to him after raving about RTOC and the potential to fill many caravans with eager club members on a convoy to Newquay raising money for charity....... And then nothing :ashamed: :wasntme:

I did it on the strength of the big 'run' down there thinking loads of people would put names down straight away so i could get back to him 24/48 hrs later with numbers. I think it's all been done the wrong way round :D Who's to say there's enough room.

Maybe organise this for next year, 2011 big charity convoy to Newquay. That should give us time to get it all organised
