as above realy
ive bought a car to finish off a friend and am toying with the idea of taking it to the nurburgring

the car is currantly standard apart from an exhaust, id like a little more power, is it possible to get a engine that will take the abuse? i dont want to spend loads of money, and am not after crazy power, just something reliable , maybe 160bhp ish

kind regards
sam

Stick with a bar of boost and everything else in good condition and it should pretty much take the abuse. No such thing as 'bombproof' though.

The engines are pretty strong if in good nick & no problems. Get the ancillaries/tune right & they can take most of the punishment you can give them on road/track.

if its mechanically sound and set up correctly it shouldn't cause any hassles

my raider is probably the most rusty, but reliable car i've ever had, had it for 7 months i use it daily and drive it without respect and all i've had apart from maintenance is a split degassing pot.

my radier is standard, runs about 11psi on a bleed valve with pace i/c, scorpion exhaust and cheap nasty induction filter. everything else is as it left the factory (samco's dont count)

Why, I like being able to do more than 60mph and get there in less than 7seconds without having to have a shoutey loud exhaust that makes everyone look and say "what a C**K"

An engine is only as good as its builder/tuner...

As tommy says honda engines are very good imo and the quality is miles better than a c1j, and would wipe the grin off many faces... but this is a renualt forum, so renault is must and id never fit a honda in my R5..

Oli thats a great comment..lol.... but i tell you what guys some of them NA civics with daft exhausts sound awefull.. loads of noise and not much go.. ok most tuned N/A`s run 10s these days but still sound ****...
