Im doing the same thing to my campus. Problems i know of as follows: Using GT clocks.......
1. electronic speedo, needs pick up off gearbox (JB5) this gearbox needs gt shafts and gt suspension i think from memory - can of worms etc
2. Rev counters. Pick up normally from AEI module. conv ignition on campus so wiring tracing time. Or GT turbo AEI has the same ignition timing as (1108CC engine) at idle (no vac) 8 degree's so in theory if you install a AEI, crank sensor and flywheel accordingly and GT loom the clocks would work, it should run ok and be ready for turbo conversion as and when.
i am running a gt box jb3 and turbo shafts and suspenion and all my clocks work picked rev signal off the coil :)

a problem i came across... i put a monaco (1.7) clock set in my F reg campus... the plugs were the same, but the wire positions were different! had to find out what each one did and swap them all over into the correct positions, you'll also notice campus has both direction lights flash for indicators whereas turbo etc. has handed ones.
if you have an old campus, then go straight off the wet coil, there will be a third terminal on there
