is a flapped intercooler when the flap has been jammed in the up position?

if its closed down the air doesnt pass through the intercooler? so it needs to be locked up by compressing the spring so it opens the flap?

Or you can take the top plastic part of the cooler off by uncrimping it and remove the flap completly....DONT remove the middle section seperating the inlet / outler of the cooler though:)

What about just removing the brass insert and replacing with a threaded bolt? Screwing it in keeps the 'flap' permanently open

A bolt in place of the stat works aswell or self tapping screw in the side to hold it in the 'up' position.

Best way is to remove the flap totally:)

I removed the stat & glued the flap up, beware it doesnt work :wasntme: I came back from santa pod to find the flap had fell down, i done at least ten runs down the qtr mile how the engine didnt blow up ill never know:laugh:

I remove the lids, take out the gubbins and, along time ago, made up some aluminium baffles to block off the top of the I/C. then strap them.
Phase 1 and Phase 2 are different........
