if there is a leak on the turbo exhaust elbow or a hole in the exhaust??

No, you shouldn't do on a turbo car I believe, as the turbo creates the back pressure needed.

Not good for emissions inside the car. but it shouldnt affect performance, manifold gasket leaking will effect the pressure pushing the turbo blades, after the turbo in a carb fueled car makes no difference. in an EFI car the lambda sensor would be reading the oxygen entering the exhaust and would effect the fueling.

Depends how big the leak is. Put it this way, when my backbox came away from my middle box and was letting, I guess 40% of the gasses out of that joint, top end power felt improved/freer but at the cost of low end torque. Small but noticable difference in performance basically.
