hey all

i picked up a shell last week from rich, wich im using to reshell my green 1.

i have a few problems with it tho.

first 1.

rich got impatient and cut the sub frame mounting point on the drivers side.
acording to renaults i cant order that on its own, i have to buy a whole chassis leg at £180.
what do i do, call it a dead loss or try an source 1.
how hard will it be to sort out?

second problem.

again rich was impatient and cut the doors off.

ive managed to grind a set of hinges of another car but it wasnt actualy neat.
am i causing my self agrow buy even thinking about saving it?

all comments welcome
cheers

Sounds like you have got your work cut out for you. I have tried re-welding door hinges, but never managed to get them spot on.

Thanks Rich, thanks for nothing... :(

You could souce a chassis leg from somebody breaking a car/scrap yard... but missions to fit good and cost involved...(unless your handy with a welder)

Door hinge same thing as above...

btw i still have that front bumper, just didnt get upto ricardo's.

What is the rest of the shell like? Is there any other rust in the normal places, if so find another shell. It will save alot of time and swet.

I was quite suprised mate when Rich told me you were having the shell once he cut the doors off! :D

I'd prob find another complete shell, be alot easier and you'll know everything will line up correctly.

Mines not been crashed, it needs sills and rear bumper mounts doing and a little hole in the battery tray. If your intrested come and get it:)

Na they dont need replacing completely, around 130miles I reckon the shell is in ringwood which is not quite as far:)
