right, raider of love has one niggle, when you accelerate, it hesitates before it goes.. if the choke is out, its ok, but without choke it seems to hesitate when you press the accelerator. ive changed the acc pump diaphragm as that was leaking, but still no change.

just wandering if anyone has had anything similar in the past, and if so is there a quick fix so i dont have to spend hours out in the cold :agree: :laugh:

Sounds like the ac pump arm needs resetting:). The old 5mm drill bit jobby

i've not had it apart to check jets, but as far as i'm aware its standard

car only runs up to 11psi, but it doesn't even need boost to missfire. just annoying as driving 'fast' isn't as fun as it should as you can pull smoothly out of corners without it jerking like muhammed ali

Sounds like it is the accel jet Mark, it will be blocked. It's that funky hooked thing that squirts fuel straight down the venturi. Checking it, and if duff removal and refitting, is very easy.

Gives very annoying hesitation everytime you put your foot on the accelerator if it's blocked :agree:

Get a new one if poss. Not sure how you'd unblock something so piddly thin.

yup, engine off, remove carb elbow, look into the top of the carb and watch what happens when you open the throttle, it should be a nice squirt through that jet down into the venturi, and not dribble around the edges. If it looks OK, do the 5mm drill bit jobbie :cool:

oh, and the linkage can seize, so you might need to free that off, pretty obvious when you look at it.

this is exactly what mines does, someone said about sorting it in someone elses thread but i've still not got round to it..:crap:

with the carb removed, slide a 5mm drill bit inbetween the throttle plate and venturi wall and then adjust the acc pump arm.

my problem is motivation, until the raider stops working i find it hard to do jobs on it, usually let them build up and up then have to spend a cold evening out on it :laugh:
