R5gtt to clio

hi guys i need some info on the Clio mk1 i was told that the r5gtt sub frame fit the clio and is not so hard ti fit the c1j in it is that true any help pls

the 5gtt subframe doesnt fit the clio as the front legs dont reach.

You can use the clio subframe ..all you need to do is drill a hole for the gearbox mount at the front and the engine fits.

Ive done this conversion and so have many others if you wish for more advice :)

im pretty sure they are the same as the clio16v brakes ..somebody will correct me ..if i were you id upgrade to at least clio 16v brakes. As the 1.2/1.4(assuming the clio is a 1.2/1.4 lol) brakes arnt that good :coffee:

tank you man yep i will fit the r5gtt disc then what have you done for the wiring it was hard to make work

Wiring wise ...i used the clio loom ..but i cant remember how it all went together as miller on here did that loom for me. Im sure there will be advice from the other clio gtt owners soon for you :cool:

tank you man i see you project i liked the sleeper look ;]. can i use the r5gtt shafts or i use the clio ones

You will have to use clio shafts ...i used the clio 1.8 16v running gear and brake setup on mine as they are stronger than the 1.2 ones :)

but do the clio shafts fit to the r5gtt gearbox and tank you for the help :agree:

yeah they fit the 5gtt box as i was running this gearbox before hand ...i changed mine back to my 1.2 box as i didnt have the speedo setup for the 5gtt. I only did this as i wanted a speedo :laugh:

The R5 GTX Gearbox is cable drive.
