hey all.

im having my car mapped on the 13th febuary, thankfully it lands on a saturday.

im just a tad worried that
a) its gona blow up
b) it will make no power
c) it gets turned away

what shud i do b4 it gets there

i know the basic things, like oil, filter and water

but what else?

i have a few nigly things to do like connect the alternator, re position fuel lines and clip down my starter cable.

shud i take spares?
tools?

or a dust pan and brush:cooter:

haha @ dale. it was a bit smokey mate wernt it.

im at rest now.

ive done a compression test and the results were
1) 125 psi
2) 126 psi
3) 125 psi
4) 124 psi

so thats good

and had a good convo with chris aka haz who put my mind at rest and gave me a few words of encouragement.

now to move in to the new unit and finish the last bits off

:):):)

how low is that compression ratio?

Std compression ratio is 8:10.1

dave r5

on speaking to haz i asumed my compresion figures were good as his engine only made 90 psi.

unless im testing in a difrent method from other ppl

wide open throtle
disconected injetors
cranked for about 5 seconds

:confused::confused:

C1J 1397cc compression ratio is 7:9.1 IIRC and that sees on a healthy lump 150psi across the board. I don't know what the bore and stroke is...or indeed if this has any relevance :ashamed: :D

it doesn't, only CR and inlet valve closing angle.

Hey all. Had the car mapped yesterday, im pleased to report it survived.

had a few isues at first, oil leak from a sender and an over filed gear box.

Maping was going well until we hit boost limitations at 8 psi. I didnt have the actuator loaded up enougth.
Got that sorted, and started to make good fiqures.

engine was looking strog at this point so we pluged in the boost control and wound it up to 18psi

end results were
223.8 bhp/6355 rpm 209.2lbft/5248 rpm
@17 psi
with a boost spike at 3250 rpm of 19 psi

im very happy with that
@17 psi

nice figures! i'm playing with megasquirt atm. Hope to get the same figures

I wouldn't go much further than that (in terms of figures) if you're using it as a road car. Nice at 17psi assuming there's a reasonable band of power/torque. Graph?

thanks all for yr comments.

im pleased with it.

drove it for the first time in 8 months yesterday for a few minutes feels realy strong and reasonably hard to keep straight.
and that was only at actuator boost leval.

heres images of the graph sorry about quality i took a picture of it on camera phone
