First post!

Well hello.......

I am Andy and my Partner in Crime is Mitch, We have funded our venture between the two of us making things a little easyer, I must add when she Breaks its normaly me who breaks her, but the last track day Mitch did :)

We have a 1993 K Reg Clio 1.8 16v Originly Xen Grey.

We have spent a lot of time effort and money on the car as as i am sure most of you will admit that you have done your self , we have got carried away a little at times.

The Car was a MOT fail and out friend was about to scrap the car, We took it off his hands for extra nothing and started working on her :)

We needed two new rear arches and a sill, Obviosly we could not buy them so with help we made them.

The Story is very long and boaring but in the end we fitted a Fully Forged Steel F4R Engine with ITBS Omex, the works, The car wa sissued in PFC in 2009 too " we love home brew"

We have had a great season but were just too much in love with BOOOOOST, coming from a Golf GTI and Impreza background we just miss that "wappp" that a NA engine just does not give you even with 235Bhp.

We have just got a new engine for out girl froma Laguna Gt 205, I am not too sure if this is the right thing too do engine wise but HEY, lets waste **** loads more cash and see what happens, Ive been told there is a r5 225Megane powered in my area, so i hope i can meet up with you as i want to talk Gearboxes

here are a few pix of the clio last year, see you all in the forum

Well hello Andy nice to see you finally made it over here mate.

I take it after the little spin in the Trophy you were hooked on turbo power?

Give me a shout if you need a hand with anything as it's the least I can do after you bent over backwards to sort those PH1 fuel lines out for me.

Yes mate I'm taking the full ktec turbo conversion off and fitting a few hand picked parts to make it a more interesting conversion.

Andy have a look through Gaz's thread here

http://www.rtoc.org/boards/showthread.php?t=5045

The last time I read through it I'm sure he just used a combination of OE engine mounts to get it to fit, so in theory because they both started off with F7R engines it should fit no probs.

However you've obviously had an F4R engine fitted to yours so I'm not to sure how much you've changed the mounts by.

I'll have to pop round for a look.

Looking at that the mount from the 172 engien will fit the top rocker head looks the same too look at on them pix, I will be no doubt swearing when it doesnt :)

Rock on

Thinking about it, I dont think the top mounts will be a problem, the lower mount could prove to be a problem depending on the position of the sterring rack and the sub frame, as I believe the bottom end of the F4RT engine is larger than a NA F4R.

read his guide and he uses the f4R top mount no worrys there.

Box sid eof things will use what i have 172 Top Tray and mount :)

The Rear engien mount will be used off the box like the 172 so if i can keep the jc5 it should be ok, we have a small manual quick rack, so there is lots of room already.

The only way we will see is on sunday when we "trial fit it :)"

Yeah the F4RT bottom end is wider than the normal f4r, but if your drilling the block to accept a jc5 box you'll be fine with standard gearbox mountings.

Just check there's room at the back for the cat or de cat pipe depending on which way you go, as it takes up a fair bit of room.
