Anyone know if these are any good. seems v cheap, and usually u get what you pay for. Surely its good enough for an idea of whats going on?

They almost forget to mention anything important such as they type of probe or the response speed. If it's a thermocouple I would guess the gauge should have a temperature limitation stated as the thermocouple amplifier chips often are only rated to 50°C. The gauge power supply electronics will be making a some heat as it regulates the voltage down for the back light LEDs and the stepper motor supply and control, so if that gauge is in the sun in the summer it could be over that temperature.

Mainly it would appear those gauges are for looking at rather then using!!
