New poster! (less than 10 posts)
Will be replacing my gearbox in the next few weeks and want to fit a new clutch at the same time.
Any ideas on the best make or company to order from?

Make sure they dont fob you off with a sachs one
volvo 440 200mm 1.7 turbo clutch from gsf
Thought it was the 480 turbo that was best?

i am led to believe that the sachs clutch gives a softer clutch pedal but cant deal with as much power/torque as the valeo uprated one, valeo bits hard but you soon get used to it
I thought the 'uprated' clutches felt ok, you get that halfway 'feel' to it but it didn't feel as heavy as my 19 16V clutch pedal :cooter: :D

i think you will find that the valeo uprated clutches are well up to the task of dealing with whatever power you can throw at it with the gtt
as for the clutches cgb sell you will need to go ask them, but gsf stock both the sachs and valeo ones

are ktec still in business or not??? its not me thats after clutch but seems you know alot more than me i havent had a five for years nw!
Ktec, etc, just have GSF post Valeo parts to the Ktec, etc, customer.
Sometimes Ktec, etc, just buy in a big box of parts from GSF and post them themselves.
The clutch to get is the Valeo 801015.
Even though many of them are a bit out of date now mainly due to a years updating being lost in June 2008, it would really help you all a lot if you simply read the articles.

Go direct to source it saves lots o f pennies :)
Long arm conversion on the R5 is a must IMHO - if nothing else gives the cables an easier life.
As Ian has covered thes have been covered in the articles and well worth a read ;)

Second quickest recorded :P don't over look my old Renault 5 with the VAG 1.8 20V conversion. Great bit of kit and do miss that car :(
Vx should do a 10 sec 1/4 this year on the santa pod day :P (10.99999999999999) and very low 0-100 of 8.3 once I put her back together with a few uprated parts. Car is really not about straight line performance and its all about the bends ;)
Try to give Scoff a run for his money :D

:D get an uprated clutch ;) lol
Long arm clutch is a longer arm to pivot the clutch release and using a diff Renault realease arm (longer) it is easier on the pedal. Few option to go all PMT if you dont want to take the box off
Kris about time I took you out on track ;) it is secret spec now :D
