Has anyone change the gear selector that sits on top of the gearbox on a MK3 Golf TDI? Basically the bit that the cable from the gearstick bolts too has broken off.
I'm trying Volkswagen to find out what bits may need changing, the picture isnt too clear that they have given me.
For my own ease i was hoping to take out the entire "thing (selector maybe??)" from the gearbox and replace all of it, not including the cables.
Whats peoples thoughts?

P.s. please see atatched pic, the bits circled are what i think i need. Its number 44 that is broke, where the bolt for gear selector cable 31 bolts to. I also have number 52 floating about which (on the car) is shown to be attached to cable 31!?!
