easy to swap, few bolts are found under the turbo area, then its the wires round the back, easily seen when the cars jacked up....

remove the battery earth and remember where the dowel goes if it comes out the starter/gearbox... i always end up asking:ashamed:

any motor factors will do it on an exchange basis, try gsf as we get a club discount.

can be a bit fiddly to do but as said get the car as high as possibly to give yourself the best chances as it has to come out the bottom.

is the starter definitely faulty? a bad engine to chassis earth point can cause the starter to be sluggish or fail to work at all. a quick test is to run a jump lead from a bolt holding the starter to the gearbox straight to the negative battery terminal and try cranking it over.

Also the wire to the starter solonoid can be burnt through or fall off, resulting in the starter not working.
