Fiat Punto steering lock

On the girlfriends punto when the cars on full lock to the left, the steeriing lock comes on........ any idea whats causing this and how to stop it??:confused:

maybe the steering column needs adjusting,think you have to undo the lower bolts on it an pull it up or push it down,something like that,had it on the 5 once when i done some work where it would not lock at all an thats what sorted it...
