Theres no actual proof that a DV will make your turbo last longer than not using one

Pros of a dump valve

1, you will get a loud hissing noise when changing gear,

2, you will turn heads everywhere you go

3, chavs will adore you and offer you a free lambert and butler just to take them for a quick spin around the local retail car park

4, your turbo spool up between gear changes will be 0.00001 secs quicker

cons of a dump valve

1, everywhere you drive people will look at you and think TW@T

2, they havent been fashionable since 1996

3,they get on your nerves after only 2 months

4, if you have an open induction kit it sounds alot better without one (wastegate noise ftw)

5, its another part of the boost circuit to fail, cause a leak, making the engine run lean, causing head gasket failure

6, you will get zero respect from anyone on rtoc if you use one

7, you will end up with no friends causing you to sell the 5 and buy a sensible car

obviously there is more cons than pros to using a dump valve but you must decide wisely, the choice is yours:cooter:

thats the one i have in my glove box :agree:

my orange car does better mpg with one on, dunno if its placebo effect or because it vents on part throttle so the carb isn't fuelling for boost?!

personally i love the dump valve threads, cause its usually the same people who come out and try to look down on people

Dump valves are great, my kids love the noise and the wife hates getting in the 5 as everybody looks as your going down the road !

Which is a great reason for me to keep mine in place ! :wasntme: :wasntme: :wasntme:

Dump valves sound ace. Whats the point of driving past the top school gates without one?

im not givvin 2 hoots about dump valves or no dump valves. mine has one, noise is little annoying driving sensible yet i like it when driving like a tool on track. i get enough stick off my mates about driving a butty box thats over 20 year old anyway so friends insulting me for a chav blow off valve is least of my worries

i love r5s yet we are tarred with the fact they always will be chav...... still i when 13 i drunk beer in the park so i at one time i was chav............. my r5 at one time probably was owned by a young chap sporting a designer tartan hat....... now i am a reformed member of the community and fast heading towards my 30s and now my r5 is a car owned by an enthusiast.

so simply dump valves... chav also r5 gts chav....... still love em and im not a chav :cartman:

i dont have a dump valve, ive got one of those cooler things. Those little speakers that make the sound of one. why go for the real thing when you can go digital, afterall its the 21st century!

dump valves are very useful in the summer on the end of a garden hose, take the diaphram out and try it!!!

the forge group A sounds the best in my opinion, they sound good on a standard turbo but even better on a t28 on full boost, a nice slashing noise!

got to love the dump valve tho, some certain members need to remember that they were noobs once, and just because they have been around a few years it gives them the right to look down on people who dont know
