hi people hope some 1 can help ill do my best to explain the problem.
about a month ago my 5 broke down while i was driving it it just stoped dead so i pulled the fuel pipe off and turned it over and there was no fuel theres plenty of fuel in the car.
so i thought it must be the relay go a 2nd hand relay off ebay still no go.
so i got another relay that is new still no go.
so i took the fuel pump off and checked it right to a battery and its fine so its not that.
checked the car for spark and it has a lovly spark.
but i still cant get fuel ive checked the wires to the ecu they seem ok although
there is a few wires comeing off it blue and red going inside the car wich i asume is for the immobiliser.
1 of them looks like its broke off from some were although am not sure if its ever been connected.
any 1 any ideas how to get my 5 going?

... wires that go fuel pump. have a break in them somewhere most prob.

... or maybe prob with fuel pressure reg ? doubt that tho.

having on of them ... days

contiuity checker...

but put a muliti-meter on it first to see if your getting voltage there when your turning your car over....

you could always run a temp ign live to it to solve the prob

right had a play about with the 5 today
i checked the relay and thers defo power there but theres no power at the fuel pump i have cleaned all earths and still no joy
so how do i go about fixing this what coulor wires go frrom the multi plug kick pannel drivers side to the fuel pump so i can check if theres power at the multi plug?
and is there any way of rewireing the fuel pump to ignition ?

Black is earth
and brown is rpm / rev counter signal

Have you checked the relay is engaging (clicking in) when you turn the ignition on? and you should have a perm live and a ign live at the relay if memory serves me right...?

have you tried bridging the white and yellow wire at the relay?

Pagids are very good - cannot remember which RS rating they were off the top of my head? 14s or 12's

With the more aggressive pads clean wheels regular ;) some of them like to eat your paint :d as Mart :P

But so far found the SBS to be best for dust v's performance and still very good with low wear rates. To give you an idea I get about 2 track days and a good few k on the road the 1144 mintex got me 126 miles on track befroe metal on metal lol

yep bridged them and nothing happens so wich wires go from fuel relay to fuel pump?

Here is a diagram showing what wires go to the fuel pump relay. The relay will only send power to the fuel pump when it receives an ignition pulse signal (tacho signal), so if you're testing for voltages without the engine cranking, you won't get a true indication.

The main faults will be: 1) No tacho signal, 2) Fuel pump kaput, 3) Broken wire

You could bridge pins 1 and 6, and if you can't hear the pump whirring but you you can see 12v with a multi meter, then your pump could be kaput? Take a look anyhow:

Forgot to say the colours are coded from french so here's the explanation:

thanx wonanaldo i have checked the pump by puttin it right to a battery that works fine i have also bridge join the wires nothing happens i suspect a broke wires some were in the loom may be the problem after havin a look at that wiring diagram something popped into my mind.
ok ill explain my idea and could some 1 tell me if it would work thanx
instead or trying to track the wire problem i have i thought if i dissconnect the original wires from the fuel pump.
and put 2 wires on and run them back to the fuel pump realy and splice them into wires 1 and 2 after the relay would this make my fuel pump work? if not how else similar would i do it thanx?

i would try running a new earth (-) straight from battery to the fuel pump leaving the original switched live in place to see if that works, if it doesn't try leaving the original (-) in place then run a ign live to see if that works that way you will find out if its a damaged switched live or earth (-) or both......

and i mean just a temporary cable not a proper wiring job just to check it all out
