I've been trying to sort out some of the slop I've noticed on my gear lever and after working my way from lever to gearbox, there are a couple of areas that are fubar'd.

The first is the ball joint that the lever pivots on. The ball seems to move up and down a fair bit?

The other is the linkage at the gearbox end, with the ball end of the rod that sits in a circlip retained nylon cup. The nylon is completely shot away! At the other end of the same linkage rod there is some kind of brass bush. This is also fairly worn.

I've got 2 spare gearboxes but, when trying to pull the nylon cup out, it seems like it might get destroyed? There use to be some quick shift kits about (see below) on ebay but, I can't seem to find any? Can anyone shed some light on where I might try?

Also found this from Engine-Dynamics (a.k.a. BBPT).

Looks a bit cheaper too! At the current exchange rates anyway.

Can anyone find me the part numbers for the std items please?

I need the selector rod linkage rod, the nylon cup, nylon cup retaining circlip, the bush/sleeve that the bolt goes through at the other end to the nylon cup.

Clear as mud? Good.

You remove the circlip by squeezing the two end together and the nylon cup should be able to be pulled down but, it isn't because it catches on the lip where the circlip sits. I think (from memory) that most people just force the dam thing out and replace with a new one.

At the moment, my nylon cup has about 4-5mm vertical movement with the circlip still in place so, is well and truly shot!!

I should also add, that is all you need to remove. The linkage then slides out through the selector rod lever after you've pulled off the inside rubber dust cap thing.
