HAHA racing in the snow! Absolute NUTTER!
All I can say is im glad I got new tyres recently or I would have been stuck for a long time.
Have to admit, I'm surprised I even got my car going this morning :D
There is a picture of it on my facebook page, the thing was frozen solid and covered in a good 10in of snow!
Still, turned the key...engine turned over...very very slowly then sounded like it free'd up before firing into life :coffee: :wasntme:
Got it upto temp and it defroze quite quickly :smokin:

The snow is upto the wheel nuts :D
To be fair Sukh, that doesn't look deep at all. I'm on top of a hill so it's really bad round here, got around a foot I reckon, up to my knees when I took the bin out earlier

I think you need to use that shovel again mate, as you're sinking rather quickly into that ten inches of snow :cooter:
Looks like your car is covered in powdered jizzm:cartman:
Ok maybe I've exaggerated a bit...and that picture probably doesnt do it justice :wasntme:
When I got onto the road, the door was sweeping the snow out of the way, I know my car is low but that to me points towards ALOT of snow...that was close to atleast 12in :laugh:

Reminds me of something Jaffa said round the campfire @ NatDay. Adam, Stu and the scottish lot were there I think, so funny :wasntme:
Yeah, Stu told Jaffa to put about 6 inches of wood into the fire, so Jaffa pushes in about 2 inches instead. Stu looked at him and said ''Mate, if that's your idea of 6 inches, i'm worried.''

I thought you wanted pictures of cars in the snow. Not a light dusting. I am well and truly snowed in. There is no access to my house and there is more snow on its way.

Got mine out of the garage today (give the battery a bit of a charge for one) went to drive her to my other garage to start some more work on her but 10mins of open diff no moving on the hill outside on the street called it a day and nursed it back to where she came from lol

I was getting a run up :D
Tried it all nice and slow and off the limiter mode but alas 52% hill tackled was about as far as I got. It has got a lovely level of sheet ice covered by snow - only got the diesel of doom out with a big push lol
duncan, sounds like an experience I had in the mazda. Stuck for best part of 2hrs at the bottom of a slip road, 3 stranded artic's behind me. tried all kinds, going up backwards, air out of tyres, digging the ice away ahead of me.. finally the truck behind me was dragged out of the way, which gave me some more room. I walked to the top of the hill, checked there was nothing over the other side, strolled back to car, reversed as far as I could and took a run up!! slid up the hill, just made it over the other side before I lost all traction again.

:) did think about running the tyres flat!
I was dreaming of a full locking diff in either of the cars lol - remember a similar situation at the Tiergarten one very icy morning trying to get up that steep hill, the little 5 with diff crawled up with no real drama. But lots of other stuff was really struggling. Really is 4x4 time at the moment
Sounds like you were lucky to get out of work Chris
Feck me I ain't letting any snow stop me sorting my 5 out been out stripped the engine so I can get the pistons and liners out.
Fecking feet are freezing can't feel my toes

There's no grip to attempt that, 4wd would have helped but with just the rear wheels and no real weight to hold the back end down I just stuck it in 2nd gear and nudged it out of there. The whole place had a layer of an inch to two inches thick of ice sitting ontop of the tarmac (you could see some areas had broken apart).
I drove back to London from Dawn's last night too and pretty much got caught in what i'd call a blizzard the whole A419 from J15 of the M4 was a blanket of snow and then from J15 to nearly j12 was like a charlie motorway. I don't know what's wrong with the West side of the counrty as when I got to Slough it was raining.

Was that around half 10ish? I hit the A419 around then too...just left my mums, hardly any snow, as soon as I got near the dually, it came down like there was no tomorrow
Yeah, just around then, it really came down heavily. To be honest, visibility was a real problem, I thought I was going to have to turn around at one point.
What annoyed me, when I was on the 419 heading to the M4, two clowns shot past me at about 80mph. I was only doing about 40 as you couldn't see that far ahead and the cats eyes along with white lines had dissapeared under the snow so I had to use the kerb as a guide to staying in the lane. Typically, one of the ****s was in a TT and the other was a Civic Type R, what amazed me even more was they were actually racing eachother:crap:. ****ing cockends.
