The colour looks the same as A N D Y's old car. Although it didn't have an interior in it, it had a rollcage instead.

i got it on the 25th of October so i ent owned it to long it was from a D.Hawthorn who lived near Yardley Birmingham. I saw it advertised on e-bay and just gave him a ring and went and had a look muny in hand, i think he mite hav been a member as there's the rtoc tax disk hoder in the car or a previous owner once was.

Nice car, well done mate. I'd have a look at your air filter location though. It's running an open filter right next to a very hot turbo. That's one of the reasons Renault put in a an airbox. Just advice, take it or leave it.:D

yeah i think Duncan used to be a member - he sells stuff occasionally on ebay. - He is a good guy.

That was the member A N D Y's car I remember seeing it when he owned it a few years back a notts meet

The interior was put in after, maybe by the previous owner i think

ye seans car was great looked abit rough around the edges but went like stink. How did u here about that.

I no the airfilter is in a naff place but wer can i locate it too to get cold air to it as im thinking of getting an intercooler but im undecided weather to have a front mounted one or just a double capacity alloy one in place of the original any suggestions.

no, that carb was off the internet i put it on a post the other day and havent yet taken it off. The gold pin in the centre of the screen is what im after which holds the gold clip in place mines fell off and want hold choke anymor.

Any ideas wer i can get one.

it was a D.Hawthorne that owned it previously and im being told it was andy's car once upon a time. Im in between Oldbury and Smethwick ow bout ur self you local to that.

well im having half a day at work 2moz weather permitting im having the carb set up at a garage near me then if theres time i was planning on going up to cgb few a few little bits and bobs if not it will be satday morning.

hi tec motors in cradley heath a carbureetor specialist mainly deals in fords but know hes done many fivs..

I went there to set up my carb again after i put the cam in. basically wasted my money because I had it sorted myself anyway :laugh:

Saw a very nice old old old school ford escort though that sounded awesome!

Matt if you go there Saturday morning ask him if he has any yellow fog lights. I want some on my car :cry:

sorry chap i went yesterday, the cars running a whole lot better as he sed the carb was well out but from now on ill get it done every 6 months or so.

It was abit of an eye opener watching it as he ragged the car through the gears more than i have wish i didnt watch. I didnte see no escort but there was a nice mark 1 fiesta in lime green with a black bonnet and roof i think.

As for the car its now running great and hopefully better on fuel alot smoother and pulls better.

160bhp at 5400rpm quite happy as its standard t2 turbo.

not realy, i wacthed like, he just drove through the gears quickly watching the machine it was rigged up to an then wud get out and start messing with the carb, he repeated that like three times and that was it and on the print out i got you could see how each time the chart had more of an increase accross the paper.
