hi have done the oil breather cup mod, but do i leave the original oil swirl pot in place that sits behind the waterpump or remove it then put a pipe from my catch tank to the pipe coming off the sump???

You can leave it there mate, i see no problem with it, allows any excess oil in there to flow back to the sump via the pipe that goes down side of the block.
I'd run the pipe from the top of it to the oil catch tank

i removed the pot , blocked the pipe to the sump , blocked the hole on the inlet manifold , and put a pipe straight from the rocker cover to a catch tank ,, works fine :)
