hi could anyone tell me the name, size/thread of a front copper brake pipe end, as i took my front brake pipe to partco to get a new flared end on and they loast it,they made me up a new one off there heads and it seems to be different, it winds into the brake cylinder side ok but onto my new flexi hose going to caliper, it winds in then does slack, it seems to be the right size but different thread and it doesnt seal properly as i found out when i lost half a litre of my new 5.1 brake fluid . would be great if anyone knew where i could get two ends:), id use cgb but postage would be 8.00 just for 2 ends :(.

Have a word with R5 rich mate, he's breaking his 5 so could pull the pipes off for you, saves having them made up. They are in good condition, know that as worked on that 5 a fair bit

All the brake fittings on the GTT are M10 except for 2 on the rear brake compensator, which are M12.

you need 8mm copper pipe, just tell them the required length needed and ask for the male and female fittings for your car. also you will need a pipe flaring kit.

8mm (5/16inch)copper pipe is what you can use for the rigid fuel lines, not the brake lines. Brake lines are the most common used, which is 3/16inch. You can get them in steel (OEM and hard to come by), copper or copper/nickel, with the copper variants being the easiest to work with.;)

Sorry for wrong info. I wasn't thinking :cartman: 8mm is fuel only.

These (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAKE-PIPE-UNION-MALE-10MM-FOR-3-16-BRAKE-PIPE-X-10_W0QQitemZ350242382556QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Hand _Tools_Equipment?hash=item518c12a2dc#ht_500wt_956)

Either buy the above or just go to your local motor factors and ask for some 10mm brake unions.
