I have a 1.9 306 td thats got a knackered turbo on it.. lucky around 6 months ago a turbo was taken from my stepdads 1.9 td thats the same, problem being its been left outside, anyidea if it should still be ok to run, is there anything i could clean the thing out with to ensure there are no bits of crap sat in it etc?

Leaving it outside wasn't the wisest choice. The biggest problem now is you're not going to know if it's ok until it's apart. I've checked brand new factory turbo's for people who've made the same mistake. The shafts often have bad pitting from rust corrosion.

When I say outside, I mean sitting out to all elements, not in a garage or shed.

ahh bugga, yea to be fair not my choice, i didnt even know it was there, i guess it would probably be a better idea to go get out outa a scrapyard, i wish they were as easy to remove as a r5 one :(.

thanks adam
