hi does anyone know if there is a test, to test the fuel pump to see if its pumping right and what pressure? can you tell by taking a test if its uprated or not, as the pump that came with the car is still on so wanted to check what it is. thanks

Yes pumping right. Should be pumping 1.5 amps.

how do you check or 1.5 amps??? thanks
I assume using a multimeter

If you want to make sure fuel pressure is right check you have 4psi of pressure above boost going to the carb top

you can use an old boost gauge as a temporary measuring device, tee'd off the fuel supply after the reg

i have done this test it was fine, just wondering with boost could pump be struggling, or even on idle revving it,it playing up. at idle it was 4 psi above. im just elimating everything that could be wrong on fuel circuit. does an uprated pump, give higher fuel pressure to cope with higher boost or does it pump same as standard but then at higher revs pump more. so doing a test could tell you if a pump is uprated

If your car is producing 4psi of pressure at idle then that sounds fine, if it still produces 4psi above boost pressure when boost is applied then it sounds like pump is working fine, no need to worry.
The difference between original and 'uprated' which is just a phase 1 pump, is the phase 1 pump produce's 3bar of pressure and the phase 2 produce's 2.5bar (pretty sure thats right :D).
One way to tell them apart is phase 2 is smaller rubber covered one, phae 1 is larger metal (silver) cased pump
