Had to take advantage of my two week whirlwind tour of the UK to see family. Spoke to Mike and he was able to supply all parts required ready for a rapid pick and, like many have said before me, he's a top bloke! Very friendly and only too willing to help out.

I'd also like to add some praise for Mike and also Tony the spanner man.

After some research and asking about I decided that I wanted to get a once over on my 5 and get Tony to set up the carb and boost.

I don't think I've met someone as through and meticulous as Tony when it comes to his work practices.
He went right through the car identifying any issues and areas I needed to address.
Luckily it was a very, very small list with just some small niggly jobs to do.

I'm delighted that no major issues were identified and Tony was quite honestly blown away by how clean my 5 is and how well it drives. It is one of a few good ones left he said and I was very lucky and did well to wait so long for a good one. So credit to its previous owners too.

Anyway, I travelled up from Cornwall at half 5 on Saturday morning to get to Tony for half 9. After going through the car we got onto jetting and setting things up.

All I can say is he worked his magic and it was far more involved than I expected and was first led to believe. I'm very glad I left it to someone who know their way around these cars.

After a whole day of tuning I left at around 7:45 pm!

I'm going back in the new year to have the little jobs sorted out and Tony feels there is a bit more to be had yet but we physically ran out of time.

The improvement already is massive at 16psi (turbo) and the fuelling is very smooth.

I know Tony would like to spend more time on it and get it 110% and I will leave the car with them for a few days next time.

What surprised me the most was what Mike and Tony charge for their services! I can't believe what I paid got me a whole day of Tony's time!

Anyhow, managed to pick up a mint original bonnet while I was there from Mike, thanks, so will try and get that painted and on soon.

Can't wait to go back and get some gremlins ironed out.

All I can say is I was left with absolute confidence after having the pleasure of spending the day with Tony and seeing how he works.

So glad I made the trip up and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Again as usual mike has been excellent, spent ages on the phone sent official renault dialogies over the net to me and spotted a hairline crack on a bearing I didnt see myself from a picture I took and sent him.

Another happy customer!! Just got my first 5 on Saturday from Mike and still trying to come to terms with the fact I now own a solid 5.

Coming from literally not caring for cars or having a clue about them (except loving a 5) to finally owning one and experiencing the incredible handlng and power these cars, I'm set for life.
After originally intending to use her as my daily, I'm looking to get a cheap second car and keep the 5 stored and slowly restored to as near mint as poss.
