speedo not working

just had a text off a friend whos purchased a r5 gt turbo, he says his speedo is not working..

What are the first things to check?

the back of the clocks , the grey cableand connection ?

The connector is normally the weak point, but check the length of the cable for heat damage just incase it's got too close to the exhaust.

If you've got a known working speedo you can replace it with, that will narrow down a possible fault.
