Anyone know about washing machines?

Just opened my washing machine to put a wash on and it emptied its contents of water which had mysteriously appeared since the last wash. Any ideas guys?

Yeah a blockage or the pump has died u wana do a wash with no clothes see how fast it emtys or the pump is on the way out

Mmm, but it had just filled up on its own since the last wash, it was turned off had no clothes in and had finished its last wash/dry program no problem. It seemed to empty the remainder of the water that didn't flood the kitchen fine.
Looks like an afternoon down the launderette. Fantastic.

More than likely the drainage motor has gone or as mark says the drain pipe out is blocked

i had the same problem, i investigated only to find my lasses g string blocked in the drain pipe :)

valves in the water inlet's not shutting properly, maybe.

Ah I wondered where my little purple one had disappeared to.
I think its something to do with mains water getting in rather than the waste, is this something I can fiddle about with?
