Ok chaps before i start, I know the pros and cons of anti perc fans, I know what they do and what problems they have caused people etc etc......

Ok basically I dont have an anti-perc fan as its been removed and i want to put one back on, but i want to wire it up to a switch so i`m in full control of it, :smokin:

I only intend to use it for short periods eg, at petrol station.............

ie, This is what i want to achieve........

1, pull up at petrol station, turn engine off, switch fan on

2, fill car up with petrol, go pay for petrol and sweets etc

3, walk back to car, get in, switch fan off, car starts first time

4, mates and onlookers dont

5,I dont feel :ashamed: as no-one has taken the piss out of it taking ages to start :cooter:

ok what do i need to do this and how and what is the best way to wire it all up??

obviously I need a perc fan, switch, wiring etc, what else do i need, any relays or stuff???

I`m only wanting the fan to blow cold air on the base of the carb etc, not bothered about blowing down pipes as well.

any help would be greatly appreciated :worship:

it seems like alot of hassle for minimum gain chap

i always bin the perc fan and have no issues with hot start on my tuned orange one, or my standard raider, both start with no choke from cold and both hot start after a couple of turns of the starter...

bit of throttle and maybe a couple of primes of the fuel pump and you shouldn't have any hot start probs

yeah sorry... its exactly the same princple as wiring up a cooling fan switch

i'd run a perm live to a switch, then to a relay, and then across the relay run the fan positive if that makes sense... i'll try sort a diagram

or, if you've got an aftermarket alarm, use a timed relay off the locking pulse for your central locking so that when you stop and lock the car it'll kick in

Cheers Markey, Diagram would be cool, as basic as possible, just to a switch would be fine, do I really need a relay or can i hook the fan straight up to a positive and negative via a switch etc??

red is 12v permanant feed, from battery + or alt + terminal, via a fuse!

green is to chassis earth via your switch

blue to + of fan motor

then earth the other wire for perc fan
