This question was asked a couple of days ago, do a quick search, iirc it was liquid metal.

TBH i would be more interested as to find out why is it leaking? What kind of leak is it? Could be the petrol tank breather's are blocked...

Chris why would it leak if the breathers are blocked????

When air/vapour gets trapped due to breathers being blocked the tank becomes pressurised, causing leaks.

IIRC, I plastic welded the bung on mine and now it's good as gold.

Yeah, it seems to be a common problem. :(

I remember dropping the tank on the driver side just enough so I could get some access to the leaking spot. Was a bit of a work up, but then again... it always is. :D

thanks chaps, when I take cap off to put fuel in it doesn't blow air out so hopefully can rule out breathers

Wouldn't hurt to check over the fuel lines while you're under there. :agree:

already had a quick look last night when I changed the engine coolant. 99% sure it's the yellow bung thingy

Go to your local builders merchants and ask for a cartridge of stixall extreme, its petrol resistant and supposed to stick anything to anything even under water. :cooter:

costs 4 squid
