hi guys sorry this isnt renault related but its my astra van 1.7 cdti, 2004 model z17 dtl, on the astras there was 2 models 80 bhp with 170 nm of torque and 100 bhp with 240 nm of torque,im getting the van remapped on tuesday and tried to ask vauxhall whether is the 80 or 100 model and they cant tell me. i ran the van standard on a rolling road and it gave 99.5 bhp at the flywheel and 138lb-ft torque at the wheels which is 187 nm, looking at this it looks as if its the 100 bhp model but the torque is nowhere near 240 and is more like the 80 bhp model, but unless the 240 is flywheel power and if you take into accound there is around 23 percent loss from flywheel to wheels. if mine is 187 nm at wheels it would be 232 at flywheel. so do you guys think its the 100 bhp model, then it gets more confusing looking in my manual i got with the van it says z17dtl torque 170nm and total power 59kw which is 79 bhp but if mine is meant to be 79 bhp how come its giving out standard 99.5 bhp is this possible? i bought a tuning box and it only gave me 8.5bhp and 9 lbft of torque took me to 108 bhp and 147lbft of torque so i sent it back and decided to go remap route. neway my problem is the remap firm said i would get gain 30 bhp and 60 nm of torque but if mine is the 80 bhp model and if i gain 30 it would be 110 same as tuning box or would it give me and extra 30 on top of my standard reading of 99.5 bhp, dont want to be getting a map and it only taking me up 10 bhp because my van runs 19.5 bhp above what it should. sorry this is so confusing i just have no one to ask as they havnt a clue. if anyone can work this out would be great thanks
