hi all
i have a ian s charge temp gauge thats needs a 5v supply but my car is stripped out no dash etc and all my gauge's are 12v. can i use a 12v to 5v converter?

something like this?

The charge temp gauge needs a 12V supply. :)

Just connect the red supply wire to the supply that feeds your other gauges or to a wire from the ignition key switch's 1st or 2nd position output. I think they might both be yellow wires, or maybe one is orange. You could connect a fuse at that point of maybe 1 Amp just to protect the red wire in case it should be abraded or cut on some sharp chassis metal.

The gauge will then go on and off with the ign key.

Another place is one of the yellow wires by the relay near the ECU.

thanks ian for some reason on earth i thought the gauge needed a 5 v supply i must be losing the pot.
