Not surprising really, its been on the cards for a while, the past few years the 206 and 207 gti have been nothing short of gay.

but to be fair the 205 gti (1.9) was always the ultimate rival for the 5GTT in the 80s :agree:

106 gti and 306 gti6 were also cracking little cars IMO :sad2:

the new peugeots look cr@p, any gti would be dog sh#t.. a mate had the 206 gti which was ok but nothing against the clio172 or 182.. it looked like a 4x4 with big gimp wheels, engine sounded dreadful, felt slow, and the pedals were nasty under your feet..

i still keep my eyes peeled for a "spares or repair" 106 gti local on ebay..

i drove a 207 gti thp175 the other week at work, soooo not impressed!

just done my rcz training and it looks like it has potential to be good, but i bet they'll put in the ****e 150bhp 1.6 bmw turbo engine in rather than the advertised 200bhp varient.

the gti180's are pretty nifty cars, as are all the older ones, i've had a 106 gti and i'd glady have another!

there was only 3 real gti's imo, the 205, the 309 (i thought to be a MUCH better handling car than the 205 tbh) and the 106, every other gti after them has just been pants, not even worth the effort buying or owning tbh, drove a 206gti and it put me off how gay they are to drive in comparison to the older ones!

give it 10 years they'll make another gti one eventually after all the hype about a revival starts spreading around again.
