hiya hope some 1 can help my gearbox oil sump plug is seized and the bolts rounded off have tried the mole grips on the outer plug ring but its seized solid
spoke to a mecahic and he doesnt fancy chizleing it round as the caseings alloy other option is to weld a bar to the plug but as i cant weld id have to find some 1 that could weld alloy
any 1 have any other ideas how i could get the gear box oil out?

the plug is steel. welding a bolt / bar to it will be the easiest way.

was thinking if i cant get some 1 to weld a bar onto it would pulling the passangers side drive shaft out as the gear box oil usually comes out that way then just fill it up again would that work as a last resort/?

most of the oil woould come out doing it that way, bit of a bodge though get it done right.

Some I have seen have a big wing nut, others have the 3/8 drive fitting.

Pretty sure it's a square 1, I'm sure there's a PMT way in which you use a spindle from an internal door

it's 8mm square in the middle, same as the engine sump, isn't it ? some decent sump plug removal tools might be in order.

You wont put a hole in it (unless your a retard with a chizz and hammer :p), just because its an alloy cast doesnt mean its play-doh... :)
